At Whitesands Beach, here in Pembrokeshire, there are rocks you don’t normally see in the summer because they’re covered in sand. For just a few days each year the tide takes much of the sand away, leaving deep wavy ridge patterns and exposing these rocks. Sometimes it even exposes the petrified roots of an ancient forest which once grew here.
