Easy landscape painting - 1 day workshop for beginners (or as a refresher!)
This is a fun 1 day introductory workshop for those who are new to landscape painting or a bit out of practise!
I believe ANYONE can paint! I'll help you overcome your 'beginner blocks' with clear instruction, demos, and practical exercises using acrylics.
You will gain a range of basic painting skills, an understanding of materials and the confidence to begin the joyful practise of painting the landscape. You'll end the day with your own landscape painting on canvas.
NB: You do not need any drawing/painting experience for this workshop!

Course Outline
Arrive at 9.45 a.m. for coffee and chat.
10.00 am start
Morning:
- Welcome & Housekeeping
- Introduction to materials and tools
- Warm up mark-making
- Simple colour mixing
- Line & Tonal Studies
Break for lunch:
- A light lunch is provided or bring you own if you prefer.
- (Tea and coffee available through out the day)
Afternoon:
- Simplifying composition & design elements of landscape
- Building Layers
- Learning to evaluate your own work
- Final Group Discussion
- Pack up (this will be at around 5pm)
All materials and equipment are provided but if you have your own items that you'd particularly like to use, or a personal sketchbook, then feel free to bring them with you.
Come and enjoy a Painting Workshop with me in my spacious and well equipped studio in the heart of the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. All Materials and equipment are provided so all you need to do is turn up with a willingness to learn and have fun!
A complimentary light lunch and refreshments are available throughout each day.
SJB Fine Art Studio is located just a mile from Newgale Beach, close to the popular village of Solva and Britain's smallest City of St. Davids with its historic buildings and stunning scenery. There is plenty of local accommodation to suit every taste and budget.
