Inspired by new landscapes, I have been busy putting together a collection of work for the exhibition. This new body of work brings together landscapes from Pembrokeshire, alongside paintings shaped from 'plein air' studies, made during recent visits to Herefordshire. Although the two places feel quite different, they have started to speak to one another through the work.
I am always interested in the point where a landscape becomes more than a place. When it begins to hold memory, atmosphere, and emotion, and that quiet sense of being in nature and taking a moment to notice things, like the relentless singing of the skylarks.
