Join us for the opening celebration! Come for a glass of wine, and a few nibbles. See the new collection of 30 paintings, the culmination of many months of work.
'Skylark Horizons' brings together landscapes from my home in Pembrokeshire, alongside paintings shaped from studies, made 'en-plein-air' during recent visits to Herefordshire.
Although the two places sit along the opposing edges of Wales, they started to speak to one another through the work. Inspired by a magical series of observations and experiences, a theme began to emerge.
Somehow the sound of skylarks became a thread running through the collection, linking the two landscapes and bringing with it an uplifting feeling of freedom and space. Poetry also emerged, making this a very special collection.
The exhibition continues until 16th August, 2026
Artist Talk: Sarah Jane Brown
Friday 17th July, 6-7:30pm
This special evening event will be a tale of personal creative evolution; from my earlier years where art was not taken very seriously, through a mental health crisis, to my subsequent 17 year career as a happy full-time artist. I'll be explaining how I've overcome the challenges and what now drives me to create my work. I'll talk about how the current exhibition came about, reading the poetry that emerged with it, and relating stories about some of the pieces.
It's been quite a journey, and I hope an inspiring story, that I'm really looking forward to sharing.
Please join us for a cool drink in the gallery as I tell my tale. There will also be a little gift for you to take away with you!
Painting Demonstration
Saturday 18th July, 1-4pm
Join us as we transform the gallery into an art studio for the afternoon!
I will be demonstrating many of the techniques that I use in my paintings and explaining how my work comes together, from 1st sketches to complete collections. I'll break down my processes so that they can be understood by all and answer any of your burning questions.
Whether you are an experienced painter, an avid collector or just a curious creative, You won’t want to miss it!
