Very happy to discover today that my painting has been selected for this year's Royal Society of Marine Artists Exhibition at Mall Galleries in London!
I did this painting last winter and have been saving it to submit for the RSMA, so I'm thrilled that it's been chosen.
A clear direction, oil on canvas, 30 x 60 cm
The exhibition is open 21st - 30th September 2023 at London's Mall Galleries, and will be available to preview online from Thursday 31st August. My painting can be purchased from the exhibition or from the Mall Galleries website.
The Royal Society of Marine Artists was founded in 1939 as the Society of Marine Artists. In 1966 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II granted it the title Royal Society of Marine Artists, and early members included Charles Pears, Montague Dawson, Claude Muncaster, Norman Wilkinson, Rowland Hilder and Edward Wesson, all eminent artists in their day and whose work is held in major national collections. Many of the current members are equally eminent in their field and their work will be valued and appreciated for generations to come.
Now in its 78th year, this exhibition is a showcase for the best in contemporary marine art, whether that is painting, drawing, printmaking, or sculpture, and as such the exhibition celebrates a diversity of approaches as well as subject matter.
You can expect to see over 300 works for sale, including paintings and sculptures. There will be workshops and demonstrations held by Society members to share their knowledge and techniques, and a team of dedicated professionals to help and advise with your purchase if required.
