Skylark Horizons is now entering its final week, and I’ve been so touched by the response to the exhibition. Visitors have come from far and wide, and the comments left in the gallery visitor book have been incredibly lovely to read.
It’s always a slightly strange feeling putting a new body of work out into the world after living with it so closely for so long, so hearing how the paintings have resonated with people has meant a great deal.
The first week of the exhibition was particularly special, as I stayed in Ross-on-Wye for the opening, chatting to visitors in the gallery, giving a talk about the ideas behind the show and reading the poem I wrote alongside it. I also gave a practical painting demonstration, which was a lovely way to share a little more of the process behind the work.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has taken the time to see the exhibition in person. If you happen to be in or around Ross-on-Wye this week, this is the final opportunity to visit.
