WIREUK – Sept 2019 date TBC https://www.wireuk.org/
Sponsored by Jo Ronald of Pure Framing, globally recognized West Wales artist Sarah Jane Brown will talk about how to combine earning a living through your creative intent, while keeping bread on the table.
Sarah Jane is a contemporary landscape artist, whose work inspired by the West Wales coastline, has been exhibited as far afield as New York and Barcelona, and shipped for collection to Australia. London showings include the Cork Street Gallery and Royal Society of Marine Artists, in the Mall.
Sarah came to painting after a maritime career, when she knew her creative spirit must be honoured. Her story is a fascinating one, negotiating the drive to connect through art with the practical realities of being a one-woman business. It will resonate with anyone involved in combining creativity with commercial needs.
Her talk will include:
- Organizing, marketing and selling your work, without destroying your soul
- How to reach new customers, using imagination and invention
- Living and creating locally, while selling globally
- Realistic pricing, and helping your market
- How to present yourself as someone worth patronage
Jo Ronald, of Pure Framing, sponsor of this event is like Sarah, a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild, and a finalist in their annual national competition. She is a zealous champion of artists displaying their work to best advantage, without it necessarily costing the earth, and gives talks and demonstrations on this subject.
